Abstract: This report presents results of a research project on church tourism by the Chair of Tourism Economics and Management at the TU Dresden. By application of the contingent valuation method, church tourists at two selected cathedrals in the German state of Saxony have been questioned on their willingness to pay in relation to individual contributions to the preservation of churches, to admission fees and to donations.
