Grenzen des Machbaren Was Pilgerwege erfolgreich macht

Lienau Detlef

Zeitschrift für Tourismuswissenschaft, 2013, vol. 5, issue 2, 211-214

Abstract: Tourism professionals in Germany are trying to profit from the boom in pilgrim tourism. The new routes are often underused. Only those who have an expertise in the field can operate successfully. On the basis of an empirical research project, the contribution unfolds the specific feature of the pilgrimage as a particular mode of experience: Pilgrims find themselves involved in the relation of being as a reason supporting them. It‘s about something unavailable to which they deliver themselves, because it creates certainty. These motives set narrow limits to tourism staging. If these are noted, provide sustainable and effective experience pilgrimage routes can be established.
