Abstract: Die Finanzierung von Unternehmungen mittels Asset Backed Securities dürfte auch in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland künftig zunehmend an Bedeutung gewinnen. Der Verfasser erläutert die Grundstruktur dieser modernen Form der Unternehmungsfinanzierung und die allgemeinen sowie die bankenaufsichtsrechtlichen Anforderungen an die Verbriefungsfähigkeit von Forderungen. Des weiteren werden die wirtschaftlichen Motive für die Durchführung einer Asset-Backed-Securities- Transaktion erörtert.
