Abstract:
The amendment of the German federal cooperative law in 2006 has increased the attractiveness of cooperatives, in particular with respect to the formation of a cooperative firm. This also applies to the foundation of labour-managed firms with a restricted number of members. Primarily, greater attractiveness is due to a reduced minimum number of founding members. On the other hand, revised regulations regarding the board of directors and the supervisory board also contributed to greater attractiveness.
