Abstract:
The German cooperative principle of member promotion is generally not well defined. In some cases, this leads to a rejection of the promotion principle as a guideline because of its vagueness. As a consequence, cooperatives may serve other target groups. This article counters a blurred concept of member promotion and discusses several approaches to precisely specify what member promotion really intends.
