Abstract: Regarding the growing challenges of the housing market, housing cooperatives do res­pond with a multitude of cooperation models. These are mostly hybrid models consisting of regional and heterarchic network structures. Basically, there are horizontal as well as vertical and conglomerate forms of cooperation providing diverse approaches to strengthen the competitiveness of housing cooperatives. Reverting to practical case studies, this article gives an overview regarding these concepts and discusses factors of success.
