Abstract:
In the economic literature, organizational form is expected to determine product quality. Numerous empirical findings indicate that this could also be the case in the wine sector. Cooperatives often perform worse. However, theoretical results are missing. We show how a theoretical model can contribute to the explanation of the negative effect of the organizational form on the quality of wines produced by cooperatives.
