Abstract:
This article presents empirical evidence gathered for a study on “Potentials and obstacles of entrepreneurial activity in the co-operative legal form” which was conducted for the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. It documents if and to what degree cooperatives indeed make use of the provisions implemented by the 2006 amendment of the German Co-operative Act, and whether its intended objectives have been achieved.
