Abstract:
“Saving - History of a German virtue” headlines an exhibition that is successful in the German Historical Museum. Above all, it provides a critical examination of public savings and savings banks. The view on cooperative banks shows that saving is not only a state paternalistic motivation. Saving not only creates financial value but also provides life-support and improves the quality of life.
