Abstract: On the occasion of the jubilee year we remember the Christian cooperative-pioneer Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen. We relate central life station to the development of his cooperative concept. We provide a classification and evaluation of his cooperative concept from today’s perspective, in order to offer prospective assumptions regarding the appreciation of his concept by newly founded German cooperatives.
