Abstract: After the National Socialists took over governmental power, they occupied top functions of the “Reichsverband” of German Agricultural Cooperatives Raiffeisen with NSDAP members. After the temporary integration into the “Reichsnährstand”, the “Reichsverband” formally regained its independence. The Raiffeisen-Organizations took part in the appropriation of Jewish property. Although decommissioned in 1945 the Raiffeisen-Organisations existed until they were merged with the German “Raiffeisenverband” in 1997 and 2010, which was reestablished in West-Germany in 1948.
