Abstract:
The propagation of the registered cooperative as an instrument for the promotion of civic engagement in the field of general-interest-services by the federal legislature is criticized in the literature because of the associated orientation to non-direct member-related interests. The article addresses this criticism and shows why there are good reasons to use the registered cooperative in the area of municipal services of general interest more than ever.
