Abstract:
The vision of sustainable development and its implementation through forest Certification. Vision and principles of sustainable development are reflected in standards and processes of forest certification (FC) according to the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). FC contributes to institutional changes and capacity building thus improving structural requirements for sustainable development. FC based on the concept of sustainable development promises to better support conservation and sustainable management of forests than the strategies developed before the Rio Conference
