Abstract:
The small and medium enterprises (SMEs) have a substantial contribution to the gross domestic product (GDP), to the creation of new jobs, to the creation of the gross added value in the economy, by boosting competition on the market. In Romania, even from the beginning of the crisis, hundreds of thousands of companies have suspended their operations or were removed. Therefore, I consider it important to analyse the factors that have generated this development of the SMEs as well as the measures that have to be taken for this sector to flourish in our country.
