Abstract: The purpose of the present paper is to highlight the human development progress and the inequality in human development for Romania. We also want to emphasize the biggest or the smallest losses, making a brief analysis of inequality on the three components: health, education and welfare. In our research we start from the idea that an objective measurement of inequality is necessary for policy makers and not only.
