Abstract: In a highly competitive world, expenditure on research - development must be viewed with greater attention. Their impact on the future development of the Romanian economy is essential. Regression between expenditure ratio of research - development in GDP and unemployment rates calculated in this paper demonstrates that an increase in spending on research - development leads to a reduction in unemployment in the Romanian economy.
