Abstract: The resistance of Triticum ssp. to English grain aphid (Sitobion avenae F.) and bird cherry-oat aphid (Rhopalosiphum padi L.) has been studied in different regions of Russia and the former Soviet Union. The dependence of resistance to aphids on the wheat genome constitution was determined. Diploid species with genomes Au (Triticum urartu) and Ab (T. boeoticum, T. monococcum) are the most resistant. Possessing a D genome in the species T. kiharae and T. miguschovae gives high resistance. Resistance controlled by the G genome is overcome by the pests.
