Abstract:
This study uses the hedonic-price method to assess the impact on residential property values of two policies implemented by the Paris municipality : ?Quartiers Verts? (?Green Neighborhoods?) and ?Quartiers Tranquilles? (?Quiet Neighborhoods?). Both policies aim to reorganize targeted neighborhoods in order to promote non-motorized transportation modes. The neighborhoods cover 18% of the total Paris area. We find that the ?Quartiers Verts? and ?Quartiers Tranquilles? policies caused property values to rise 3% and 1.5% respectively.
