Abstract:
Based on the administrative data, a generalized synthetic control method was applied to evaluate the impact of cash transfer programs on local employment in the city of Maricá, Brazil. A positive effect of these programs on the number of workers formally employed in the city was observed. JEL Codes: I380, J230.
