Abstract:
Here, we present the results of an experimental research project, indicating that when two partners launch a joint development, mutual trust increases the willingness to invest in the partnership. Yet there is an optimal level of trust to maximize joint creativity: above and below that level, joint creativity will be reduced. As a consequence, executives should monitor and manage the evolution of trust within development teams as it is a critical factor for cooperation success.
