Abstract:
The fashion and luxury industry is today the second most polluting industry in the world. It generates 10 percent of all greenhouse gas emissions. In this context, this industry must innovate and shift toward more sustainable development. What innovation strategies could turn environmental constraints into business opportunities? This article highlights an original approach allowing organizations to collectively and systematically explore the challenges of sustainable development specific to the fashion and luxury industry and to identify innovation opportunities to be exploited. The aim is to design innovation strategies in order to clarify expectations and needs around ?desirable? concepts, objects, and services, and thus to rethink the economic and social utility of fashion according to its social and environmental impact.
