Abstract:
In this interview, Philippe Silberzahn and Dominique Vian, experts and practitioners of effectuation, discuss the outlines of this theory: differences in terms of approach and epistemology between effectuation and causation, but also complementarities and combinations of these approaches; demarcation lines with bricolage, improvisation or Lean Startup. The place of effectuation in entrepreneurial learning is also discussed, as well as the usefulness and scope of the principles of effectuation in a more general way to create novelty (Novelty Creation). Finally, Philippe and Dominique return to the criticisms that have been levelled at this theory, assess their relevance and identify elements that deserve further investigation.
