Abstract:
When an innovation arrives, it shakes up, more or less strongly, the institutions in place, the actors and the representations. In this context of change, the regulator is sometimes required to intervene and impact the trajectory of an innovation. The study of the case of banking aggregators, launched by start-ups, allows us to study the role of the regulator on the dynamics of an innovation, in the context of the European Union. This case highlights that the roles of regulators and supervisors in managing institutional change have a strong impact on the dynamics of an innovation. For an entrepreneur, this understanding of the different roles and their potential impacts is likely to help in the management of his company.
