What it Looks Like to be a Sustainability Entrepreneur

Abstract: In this interview, Alex Piutti discusses his start-up, SPRK. global, which is a commercial B2B food distribution platform that aims to transform the industry. His mission, he explains, is to eliminate the 40% of fresh food that is wasted every year by reducing so-called overstock, in which farmers and distributors hedge against supply and demand uncertainty by producing and ordering too much. He explains how he got into the business, what kind of learning curve he had to deal with, and how he and his colleagues measure impact.
