Innovation inclusive et handicap: les apports du design social

Abstract:
How can inclusive innovation be carried out with people with disabilities (PWD)? In this article, we show that beyond the innovation methods classically listed (i.e. universal design and user-centred methods), social design aims to have the stakeholders of an ecosystem collectively design solutions, with possible changes in practices and representations of disability, as well as the empowerment of people with disabilities. We illustrate the approach via the example of a digital application developed for residents of a residential home.
