Abstract: This paper aims to identify the success factors of workers cooperative takeovers. By drawing on 6 case studies, carried out through 46 semi-directive interviews with the members of the takeover teams and the experts who supported them, it highlights the importance of a factor hitherto ignored by researchers: the ?team-takeovership maturity? of the takeover team. In addition to this theoretical contribution, the article makes managerial contributions aimed at both takeover teams and the institutions that support them, in particular through the development of a maturity assessment grid.
