Abstract:
This research aims to deepen our knowledge of business project holders? identification and selection practices during the preincubation phase of incubators. We analyzed these practices using an ecosystem approach through a single case study of an incubator in southwestern France (Occitania region). This allowed us to conceptualize entrepreneurial sourcing as a pragmatic process that any incubator could adapt to effectively identify and select business project holders. The study also shows that entrepreneurial sourcing practices are part of the interactions between incubators and other actors in a sub-ecosystem that we have detailed and described as a preincubation ecosystem. Furthermore, we have shown how entrepreneurial sourcing has territorial limits that can be mitigated by the hybridization (physical-digital) of practices within incubators.
