Abstract:
Doing business on an island means coping with geographic and economic isolation. Long specialized in agriculture and tourism, Guadeloupe is diversifying in order to develop. The digital economy is a relevant social, economic and technical response. Since 2013, the GuadeloupeTech cluster has been mobilizing to support this transformation. The association?s assessment is an opportunity to measure the scope of the actions undertaken, and their impact on Guadeloupe?s entrepreneurial landscape. By linking territorial constraints and methods of action, this article offers a new angle of observation of Guadeloupean entrepreneurship, driven by a strong involvement. By adapting a cluster evaluation grid, we propose a model that will enable public and private players alike to understand the way in which the initiatives supported can constitute a correction of the framework of constraints.
