Abstract:
Industry and industrial spaces of big cities have experienced mutations that derive from structural processes linked to the spatial division of activities and functions, businesses innovation and segmentation strategies, and the insertion in the network?s space. But also from local actors with different interests and the new forms of governance, that shape actual urban regimes. The article analyzes the industrial evolution of Madrid City, the logic of functional and spatial changes, and the effects of urban arrangement plans on the intensity and direction of transformations.
