Les dispositifs français de développement rural: quelles proximités mobilisées ?

Valérie Angeon and Nathalie Bertrand

Géographie, économie, société, 2009, vol. 11, issue 2, 93-114

Abstract: Regionalization of policies is today a new reference for local public authorities, through contracts and definition by local actors of jointed development projects. In France, territorial projects in rural areas, are linked to many formalized devices. We study in this paper three territorial projects (coherence territorial plan ?SCOT-, regional development contracts and LOADDT Law?s contracts). We characterize the ways collective actions are organized and what they generate. Then, we consider the types of relationships between actors and outline areas of interaction between different decision levels. This analysis is based on a theoretical frame: the economy of proximity. Specifying proximity registers that studied territorial projects require, we determine in a dynamic perspective the forms of territorial organization and their evolution as well as their development.
