Abstract:
Medium-scale international sports events favour localised intermediation systems. The stakeholders animate, manage and organise these systems between production and territorialisation in order to innovate and create interfaces between them. Situational semiotic analysis allows us to understand the mechanisms as well as the meaning given to each initiative generated by the event. Innovative theoretical and methodological frameworks in the socio-economic geography of sport arm a typical case study, the Orléans Tennis Open. The results demonstrate the need to match its production and its territorialization, participating in the success of this process of territorial intermediation.
