Abstract:
This article focuses on the process of setting an alternative agri-food model on the political agenda in Guadeloupe. It shows how the agri-food model conveyed by family small-scale agriculture emerged as a public problem. In particular, it analyzes how this model has been the driving force behind mobilizations, media coverage and recent politicization. Based on surveys of local stakeholders, complemented by a review of press articles and grey literature, the paper describes the process of setting this alternative model on the political agenda and questions the existence of a political window of opportunity that has not (yet) led to change.
