Abstract:
This text intends to show how social currencies, which are emerging local currency schemes, constitute social innovation. It first shows how their spreading modes include the possibility of innovation. It then focuses on four transversal dimensions that are part of social innovation: the accent on purposes and local anchorage, some partnership for a unifying project, a critique of the mainstream model and the emergence of innovative forms and rules.
