Abstract:
The cooperation for innovation within industrial districts has been largely investigated, but the economic literature counts a limited number of successful cases. This paper is focused on the case of Ruvaris, a company operating in the taps & fittings industry that represents a good example of a structured and enhanced cooperation during the years. As a matter of fact, Ruvaris was created by several competing companies based in different districts of Italy, in order to manage cooperative projects for innovation without the implication of public bodies and, in the first phase, without public financial support.
