L a temporalité du travail identitaire: renouvellement et maintien identitaire des organisations temporaires récurrentes

Stéphanie Havet-Laurent and Vincent Salaun

Innovations, 2023, vol. n° 71, issue 2, 65-96

Abstract: This article proposes to reflect on the link between the temporal structure of the organization, more particularly recurrent temporary organizations, and the temporality of identity work. The research proposes a dialogue between two corpuses, the one on temporary organizing on the one hand and the one on identity work on the other hand. The study of two musical festivals brings to light the fact that the identity work of the recurrent temporary organizations is essentially done between the periods of activity and thus sheds new light on the roles and functions of the latent states of recurrent temporary organizations. The complementarity highlighted between the process of identity work and the process of event organization allows us to suggest a central place for latent states, well beyond a simple function of time for building a network of potentialities.
