Abstract:
The World Bank new strategy against poverty relies on micro-credit schemes in developing economies. As banking sectors exclude a high proportion of the population and furthermore often have not the best practices, the institutions of micro-finance seem to play an important role. Based on a review of theoritical and empirical literature, we try to measure the financial performances of these structures, then assess their impact on the financing of micro-enterprises and poverty reduction.
