Abstract:
This article proposes a critical assessment of the socio-economic approaches of environment and sustainable development. Unlike the standard analysis which does not admit the embeddedness of economic, social and environmental dimensions, the socio-economic approaches seek to conceptualize these interrelations. Though they offer promising perspectives, they come up against difficulties which still limit concrete proposals.
