Abstract:
Revenue Distribution in Senegal West African Economic and Monetary Union members introduced in 2002 year a common external tariff and the internal taxation harmonization. With a calculable general equilibrium model, SenMCEG, we show that an alternative policy to the one the Senegalese Government implemented in the context of these reforms, would both maintain macroeconomic stability and reduce poverty in the most disadvantaged household groups.
