La soutenabilité des ressources forestières en Afrique subsaharienne francophone: quels enjeux pour la gestion participative ?

Jerome Ballet, Kouamékan J.-M. Koffi and Kouadio Boniface Komena

Mondes en développement, 2009, vol. n° 148, issue 4, 31-46

Abstract: Over the last decades common pool resource management has been developed increasingly. This paper focuses on the development of common pool forest management in French speaking subsaharian african countries, in a way of sustainability. It analyses the main stakes facing by forest management. It mainly underlines four stakes : the antagonism between representation of the forest, the antagonism between logic of property rights, the weak participation of local population, and the lack of coherence of public policies.
