Abstract:
This paper presents the results of a research on the experiences of the rural exodus of Tibetan women who migrated to Lhasa, a region of increasing urbanization and economic growth. The relationship between these women and their families and home communities in rural areas where traditional ways of life persist, is also examined in order to explain the interactions, influences and impacts of this migration.
