Abstract:
Fair trade is generally perceived as a hybrid practice between gift and market, development lever for southern countries. This article, through a case study in Mali, questions the performance of fair trade embedded in a market economy, and at the same time implications linked to its gift part. This analyse try to highlight the limits of fair trade due to its political and cultural character.
