Abstract:
Development strategies are presently deployed with greater uncertainty, especially because of the climate change constraint. This climate constraint is increasing scrutinized and taken seriously into account by the South countries as shown by the implementation of the provisions of the Kyoto Protocol, particularly the clean development mechanism (CDM). Through the analysis of the CDM, our contribution will examine its effectiveness in Asian countries for two major dimensions of climate policy in developing countries: the sectoral emission reduction of greenhouse gas, and the transfer of environmentally-friendly technologies.
