Abstract:
New kinds of innovations originating from less developed countries, more affordable and less intensive in resources, are making their way into the global market. It can be seen as a set of individual successes or as a new model of innovation with a wide potential of diffusion. This model has important impacts on the competitive status of western firms based on the size and quality of the accumulated stock of knowledge. We draw conclusions that show new opportunities for the less developed countries to compete for new and innovative productions of goods and services on the world market.
