Abstract: Initiated in the 1990s, forest certification aims to promote sustainable forest management. However, despite the efforts devoted to its implementation, it does not attain the success expected. Through the study of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification in the light of the actor-network theory, this article aims to synthesize the causes of this failure and to propose some avenues for overcoming them.
