Abstract:
The relationship between institutions and international financial market access in natural resource rich countries has been overlooked in the economic literature. However, these questions have become more present in public debate with the recent drop in oil prices. To address these issues, this article tries to better understand how natural resource dependent economies can deal with their external debt and how financial markets view this sovereign risk.
