Agricultures, ruralités, paysanneries: réflexions et questions pour une économie politique critique des discours dominants sur le développement

Abstract:
The dominant approach to agriculture in the North and South for more than half a century, in theory and practice, has been that of a sectoral approach focused on modernization through an ever greater increase of productivity and the liberalization of exchanges. The most visible result of this approach is the widespread agrarian and urban crisis, which is now at the heart of global accumulation. A paradigm shift is required to overcome the insuperable contradictions and bottlenecks of modernization, and to restore agricultural and rural issues?and the farming community in general?to their place at the core of a development approach through the construction of sustainable ?territories of life? in the South and the North.
