Abstract:
In this paper, estimates based on Tunisian data show that vertical research and development (R&D) spillovers outweigh horizontal R&D spillovers in terms of exchanged product variety when they are transmitted through import and patent flows. The originality of this paper lies in the analysis of the effects of R&D spillovers on exchanged product variety, distinguishing both between the different propagation channels and the different sources of these products.
