Abstract: This study analyzes the willingness of least developed countries (LDCs) and how they organized into a group hoping to influence global economic governance as part of the WTO?s Doha Development Agenda negotiations. Starting with a positivist analysis of the official texts, the article shows that this is only a chimerical attempt to redefine global economic governance: neoliberalism remains the doctrine in force and attempts to democratize international trade relations are only a political strategy aimed at preserving the current order.
