Abstract:
This paper analyzes the factors that could drive more innovation in Africa and the least developed economies. First of all, the importance of a National Innovation System is mentioned. The new models of innovation around the concept of frugal innovation have a strong capacity for renewal and enrichment of innovation activities. Local systems of production and innovation are essential elements of this dynamic. Finally, lessons are being learned in terms of scientific and technological policy.
