Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to analyze the quantities of municipal solid waste produced by tourists residing in tourist establishments and to compare them with those produced by the local population of the island of Djerba, in Tunisia. We focus on distinguishing between a tourist staying in the commune of Houmt Souk, which has many small- and medium-sized independent hotels, and a tourist staying in the tourist area of Midoun, where there are many hotel chains.
